HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE! SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER TODAY!
HSNEI depends largely on volunteers to help socialize and care for animals at the Adoption Center, thus we ask all potential Adoption Center volunteers to fill out an application and complete the online orientation-both can be accessed from the red button above.
Children must be at least 10 years old to volunteer.
Volunteers age 10-13 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or parent-approved volunteer while volunteering. All volunteers under the age of 18 need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian before volunteering.
Volunteer tasks include but are not limited to: Walking or exercising dogs, cleaning kennels, socialization of animals, playing with cats, cleaning (laundry, dishes, Adoption Center), and any task as assigned by the Adoption Center staff. After volunteering 50 hours volunteers earn an HSNEI t-shirt.
The health and safety of our animals and volunteers are of utmost importance, which is why all volunteers are required to follow policies explained at orientation while at the Adoption Center. Volunteers are encouraged to ask questions as they have them to ensure a safe environment for all and a positive experience for our guests. If a volunteer or staff member is not following policies they will be given a verbal explanation/warning the first time. The second time the volunteer receives a written warning, and on the third occasion the volunteer will be asked to leave the Center and no longer volunteer with HSNEI. We value our animals, volunteers and staff and want everyone to have a healthy, safe, and positive experience at the Love & Friendship Adoption Center.
